Capt. Ralph Casler
Rick Obey grew up on Boston's north shore. He fell in love with boats as a child spending time fishing aboard his grandfather's wooden 1968 30' Trojan. When he bought his first boat, it was a wooden 1948 double cabin, enclosed bridge Chris Craft. With his love of boating and a move to South Florida, he joined the sales team at Jackson Marine.
He realized he had found his true calling when he sold a boat his first day on the job. From that point on, Rick has spent his time doing what he loves. Today, he is one of the premier experts of Sunseeker Yachts having made at least 150 visits to Sunseeker's yard in the UK, being involved in the building of at least 200 new Sunseekers and the sale of countless pre-owned yachts.
In addition to his impressive sales record, Rick cruises extensively in the Bahamas and all along the East Coast of the United States. His yacht knowledge and passion assures his clients they have chosen the right person for the job and their yacht purchase or sale will be a positive, stress-free experience.

Mike Engstrand raised in Northern Minnesota, Mike was born into the boat business. Mike's father was a Trojan Boat representative when boats were still made of wood. Growing up in the family boat and RV business, Mike was stamping literature at trade shows when he was 6 years old. Eventually, he did everything from pre-delivery assembly to fiberglass repair to selling and managing one of three family owned dealerships.
After a short stint with Irwin Jacobs at Minnetonka Boat Works (A Genmar Company), Mike Relocated to sunny Florida and became a manager at BMC Marine representing Cranchi and Super Classic boats imported from Italy.
Eventually, an opportunity came up to be a broker for "Sunseeker Florida" selling Sunseeker Yachts where Mike became one of the top brokers. Due to a change in ownership of "Sunseeker Florida", Mike moved to MarineMax where he represented Azimut, Benetti, Mangusta and Zeelender Yachts.
However, Mike's real passion is with Sunseeker Yachts, so when an opportunity to join Rick Obey at Rick Obey and Associates came up…he couldn't resist! Mike also has interest in Vintage Race Cars as well as Classic boats and Aircraft which usually gives him something in common with Yacht owners.
"Our clients usually have several toys".

Father Brian from Torquay and mother Joan from Liverpool. I was born and raised in Torquay Devon on the English Rivera in 1966. I lived my summers on the beach and was always out on the water every chance I got as a kid. As an avid sportsman, I did well in anything that involved a ball or speed on foot.
At the age of 18, I felt the need to get out in the world and in 1985, I joined HM Royal Marine Commandos, 30 weeks later, I received my Green Beret and Commando Flashes and went on to serve my country for just over 5 years.
During that time, I specialized as a landing craft coxswain and in 1987, I went to Poole in Dorset to take part in my LC3 course.
I remember one foggy winter morning a stunning boat came out through the fog and across my bow -- it was the first time I had ever seen a Sunseeker and It left a mark in my mind I'd never forget. I put my notice in to leave the Royal Marine two weeks later, but had to wait another 18 months to actually serve out my notice, which I did. I saw action in Northern Ireland in 1987 for 6 months with 42 Commando where I was a bodyguard for the Bomb Disposal Chief in South Armagh (Bandit Country).
In 1990, I went to live in Mallorca Spain and became the delivery captain for Sunseeker Mallorca based in Calador at that time which was where I first met Robert Braithwaite owner of Sunseeker International during a his visit to the island. At the age of 23 I was loving life working for Sunseeker..... Since then I have skippered several yachts mostly Sunseeker vessels, I am a PADI Dive master and have my IANTD Advance Nitrox Diver ticket.
I had visited Florida in 1988 aboard HMS Intrepid and had 5 days to enjoy South Beach with my friends. During that visit, I promised myself that I would come back to live in Miami Beach one day, which I am now doing although life took me 22 years to get back here-- I've never been to give up on my dreams, I've always preferred to live them.
Sales has always been natural for me, as I like to talk to & meet good people and have hence managed to develop great relationships with ease as a result.

I’ve seen a lot during my 20 years in the boating industry. Currently I am a broker for Rick Obey and Associates. I am an expert broker/advisor on the Sunseeker product line. I am a curator for the yacht division of one of the world’s largest luxury lifestyle web sites. In addition to curating and sales I am a public speaker and key yacht advisor to several estate management and concierge associations. When time allows I am also an author.
As a Sunseeker broker I have had the pleasure of serving clients both locally and internationally.
I have built several ‘one of a kind’ Sunseekers customized to my client’s needs and personal tastes. From Canada to Brazil, the Bahamas to the Med I’ve helped my Sunseeker clients live out their yachting dreams.
I started in this business at the bottom. Literally. I cleaned toilets and washed boats for a few years. This was 20 years ago. I quickly saw a need for quality service in the yacht industry and took advantage of a gap in the market. My work ethic allowed me to turn a few detail jobs here and there to managing 100 boats a week within a 182 mile service area. Within a few years my work vans and crew members were stationed in marinas up and down the west coast. That’s when I decided to move out east and invest in Florida.
I was invited to take over services at one of the largest boat yards in the Caribbean. I jumped at the challenge. I spent two years repairing yachts of all sizes before returning to Florida to help clients locate and purchase their dream vessels. It has been a fantastic journey. It’s an experience that has given me a deeper understanding of how clients want to be treated and not treated.
My hope is that you contact me and schedule a time to tell me what you are looking to do. Are you thinking about buying a boat? Are you thinking about selling a boat? Either way I can help you. I have relationships with nearly every dealership and brokerage in South Florida and beyond. I can utilize those relationships to get to the bottom line when buying or selling. Please give me a call and allow me to help you enjoy your yacht habit.

Chuck Pickover was born and raised in Miami, and has always been drawn to the water. From early childhood, he has had a passion for the sea, and has been cruising, diving, and fishing ever since. He started his career in Yacht Sales while living in Key Biscayne, FL in 1985 after meeting a successful yacht broker while attending a friends family function. Intrigued by the idea, he put on a coat and tie and started knocking on doors. Although Chuck did not have much sales experience at the time, the president of the local Hatteras dealer, now known as The Allied Marine Group, appreciated his enthusiasm and took him on board where he spent the next 17 years in a successful career selling a wide range of product.
From there he spent two years at Lazzara yachts before starting his own brokerage company, CMP Yacht Sales. After two years he formed a partnership with Sun Power Diesel and Marine and combined his brokerage business with Sun Power's small local Rampage sport fishing dealership.
Within two years, Chuck built the dealership up to the nations leading dealer where it remained until the 2007 economic downturn. Watching the declining sport fishing market, Chuck and his partner decided to liquidate their inventory and close the dealership. In the few previous years, Chuck had the opportunity to cruise on several Nordhavn yachts and really loved and appreciated the cruising knowledge and the experiences these owners shared. While winding down the Rampage dealership, he started discussions with Yacht Tech which had a very successful Nordhavn service business and sold a few pre-owned Nordhavn yachts a year.
Recognizing the potential and loving the product, Chuck became the head broker, really learned the product, and in a few short years, dramatically increased the companies brokerage Nordhavn sales volume. After Yacht Tech, he continued Nordhavn sales working directly for Nordhavn Yachts. Always looking for a new challenge, Chuck had been watching the success and growth of Rick Obey and Associates over the last few years. Hearing that the company was planning to open another location in the Palm Beaches, he joined the firm, and is excited to bring the Sunseeker experience, and excellent brokerage service to the area.

Yielding to a desire to live far away from snow and as near as possible to the ocean, Nancy moved to Ft. Lauderdale from upstate New York. Her future husband convinced her to "runaway to Intracoastal" and they lived and worked aboard yachts for the next 15 years with a successful charter business, then, as crew on other yachts.
Moving ashore, Nancy continued to work with the marine industry with her own business, lettering yachts and providing signage for many South Florida marine businesses. Following the sale of the sign business, she became an assistant for charter, sales and new construction brokerage houses.
She uses her knowledge of marine products, industry terminology and boat building to accurately represent the outstanding features of our huge, new and pre-owned yacht sales inventory.

He likes to think that the customer comes first, and treats you accordingly. He will assist you in the acquisition process, not only in the custom search or build of your dream vessel, but through the survey, sea trial, closing, as well as continue to work with you, throughout the years of ownership.
As a unique service to his customers, he uses his many contacts and relationships in the industry to arrange as well as supervise all work on vessels, with personalized service, and attention to detail.
Victor has known Rick Obey for quite awhile, as well as worked with Sunseeker in the past. With the opening of a new office in Palm Beach, at the marina where he originally started in 1998; he thought the timing was right to join the company. He believes the Sunseeker brand, his yacht knowledge, excellent brokerage service and commitment to his customers, will be a positive experience, whether it be in the sale or purchase of their yacht.
